Allasani Peddana

Allasani Peddana was a 16th-century Telugu poet who served in the court of the Vijayanagara emperor Krishnadevaraya. Known as "Andhra Kavita Pitamaha" (the grandfather of Telugu poetry), he was one of the Ashtadiggajas (eight great poets) of the Vijayanagara court. His masterpiece work is "Manucharitra" (Story of Manu), considered one of the finest examples of Telugu Prabandha literature.
