Stewart Wieck was a prominent figure in roleplaying game publishing and fiction writing, best known as the co-founder of White Wolf Publishing and creator of the World of Darkness universe. He established White Wolf Magazine in 1986 with his brother Steve Wieck, which evolved into White Wolf Publishing and became one of the most influential companies in tabletop gaming.
At White Wolf, Wieck was instrumental in developing Vampire: The Masquerade and other World of Darkness titles that revolutionized storytelling in roleplaying games during the 1990s. He served as a writer and developer for numerous gaming products while also working as an editor and publisher for White Wolf's fiction line.
After leaving White Wolf, Wieck founded Nocturnal Media in 2010 where he continued publishing both tabletop games and fiction. His work included writing novels set in the World of Darkness setting and developing new gaming properties.
Wieck passed away in 2017, leaving behind a legacy of innovative gaming publications and storytelling that helped shape modern roleplaying games. His contributions to the gaming industry earned him induction into the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design Hall of Fame.
