📖 Overview
Geshe Thupten Jinpa is the principal English translator to the 14th Dalai Lama and has been serving in this role since 1985. As a scholar and author, Jinpa has written several books on Buddhism, compassion, and mind training, including "A Fearless Heart" and "Essential Mind Training." He is the founder and president of the Institute of Tibetan Classics and has overseen major translation projects of classical Tibetan works.
Jinpa's academic work spans both traditional Buddhist scholarship and contemporary mind sciences. He has been instrumental in facilitating dialogue between Buddhist contemplative traditions and modern science, particularly through his work with the Mind and Life Institute, where he serves as a core member of the board.
Beyond his scholarly contributions, Jinpa developed the Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) program at Stanford University's Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education. His translations and original works have made complex Buddhist concepts accessible to Western audiences while maintaining their philosophical depth and authenticity.
