Alex Bledsoe is an American fantasy author known for blending noir detective fiction elements with fantasy storytelling. His work spans multiple series including the Eddie LaCrosse novels, the Memphis Vampires series, and the Tufa novels.
Born in Tennessee in 1963, Bledsoe worked various jobs including editor, photographer, reporter, and vacuum cleaner salesman before establishing himself as a novelist. He graduated from the University of Tennessee and later settled in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin.
The Eddie LaCrosse series, beginning with "The Sword-Edged Blonde" (2007), represents his most prominent work, following a medieval private investigator who solves cases in a fantasy setting. His other major works include the Memphis Vampires series starting with "Blood Groove" (2009) and the Tufa novels beginning with "The Hum and the Shiver" (2011).
