Winston Graham (1908-2003) was an English novelist who achieved widespread recognition for his Poldark series of historical novels set in Cornwall, alongside numerous other works including thrillers, period novels, and short stories. Originally named Winston Grime, he legally changed his name to Graham in 1947. The series gained international acclaim and was twice adapted for television by the BBC, first in the 1970s and again in 2015. Graham was awarded the OBE for services to literature in 1983, and continued writing until his death in 2003 at age 95.
