📖 Overview
Roshani Chokshi is a New York Times bestselling author known for writing fantasy and children's literature. Born in 1991 to Filipino and Indian immigrant parents, she draws heavily from her Hindu background to create richly-woven narratives that blend mythology with contemporary themes.
Her debut young adult novel "The Star-Touched Queen" was published in 2016 by St. Martin's Press, followed by its companion novel "A Crown of Wishes" in 2017. All of her series-launching novels have achieved New York Times bestseller status, establishing her as a significant voice in young adult fantasy literature.
In 2018, Chokshi entered the middle-grade market with "Aru Shah and the End of Time," which was selected as the inaugural title for Rick Riordan Presents, a Disney-Hyperion imprint. Originally pursuing a law degree at the University of Georgia, Chokshi made the decision to focus on writing full-time after selling her first novel while still in law school. She currently resides in Georgia and continues to produce work that combines elements of fantasy with cultural mythology.
