Penny Dale is an English children's book author and illustrator born in London in 1954. After studying Fine Arts at Exeter College of Art and Design, she established herself as a prominent figure in children's literature, creating both her own stories and illustrating works for other authors.
Dale's most renowned work is "Ten in the Bed," which has sold nearly two million copies and won the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Award in 2002. The book's success led to two sequels and achieved a notable milestone in 2018 when it became the first CBeebies bedtime story to be signed in Makaton.
