📖 Overview
Inspector Jefe Javier Falcón investigates what appears to be a murder-suicide in an upscale Seville neighborhood, where a father lies dead in his kitchen and a mother suffocated in her bedroom, leaving their seven-year-old son an orphan.
As Falcón digs into the deceased couple's past, he encounters resistance from the Russian mafia and uncovers connections to his neighbors - including an American couple, a famous actor with a troubled son, and a woman previously suspected of murder.
The case grows more complex when additional suicides occur, including that of a high-ranking police officer, while a devastating forest fire threatens Seville. Falcón must work through layers of deception to uncover the truth.
The novel explores themes of hidden trauma, the weight of secrets, and how past violence echoes through multiple lives in modern Spain.
