📖 Overview
Lucy Wiltshire runs a non-profit home for young women aging out of foster care in South Carolina. When funding for her program is cut, she needs to find a way to save the home and support her girls.
Former NFL star Alex Sinclair offers Lucy a mutually beneficial arrangement - she'll pose as his fiancée to help his Congressional campaign, and he'll provide the funding she desperately needs. Their fake relationship agreement leads them into a series of public appearances and campaign events.
As Lucy and Alex navigate their arrangement, they must confront their personal histories, family dynamics, and evolving feelings. The story combines romance with themes of second chances, service to others, and finding authentic connections.
The novel explores how past wounds shape present choices, and examines the tension between public image and private truth. Through its focus on foster care and community support, it raises questions about responsibility and redemption.
