🤔 Interesting facts
🎈 Miffy (known as "nijntje" in Dutch) first appeared in 1955 when Dick Bruna created her while telling bedtime stories to his young son during a rainy vacation.
🎨 Dick Bruna used only primary colors in his Miffy books, believing they were the most appealing to young children. He limited himself to just six colors: red, blue, yellow, green, brown and black.
📚 The original Dutch text of Miffy's Birthday and other Miffy books always contains exactly four lines per page, with six syllables per line—creating a careful rhythm that makes them perfect for reading aloud.
🌷 Author Dick Bruna was from Utrecht, Netherlands, where there is now a Miffy Museum (nijntje museum) dedicated to his work and beloved character.
🖊️ Each Miffy illustration took Bruna multiple days to perfect, despite their simple appearance. He would often create up to 100 versions of a single drawing before being satisfied with the result.
