📖 Overview
The Innocent Mage follows Asher, a fisherman's son who leaves his seaside village to seek fortune in the kingdom of Lur. Upon arrival in the capital city, he takes a position at the royal stables and quickly becomes assistant to Prince Gar, the kingdom's only non-magical royal.
The story takes place in a realm where two peoples coexist: the magic-wielding Doranen who rule the kingdom, and the non-magical Olken who are forbidden from practicing any form of sorcery. The Doranen maintain strict control over magic use, executing any Olken who dare to break this law.
A secret organization called the Circle watches Asher's movements, believing him to be connected to an ancient prophecy about a figure known as the Innocent Mage. As tensions rise between the Olken and Doranen peoples, Asher becomes increasingly entangled in the kingdom's political and magical conflicts.
The novel explores themes of class division, forbidden knowledge, and the price of power, set against a backdrop where magic serves as both a tool of protection and oppression.
