📖 Overview
HEX follows the residents of Black Spring, New York, a town haunted by the ghost of Katherine van Wyler - the Black Rock Witch. The 17th-century witch appears randomly throughout town with her eyes and mouth sewn shut, silently observing the inhabitants who track her movements through a specialized app.
The town operates under strict rules to maintain peace with the witch and prevent outsiders from discovering their secret. Residents cannot leave for more than a few days without facing severe consequences, and they must ensure the witch's stitches remain intact while protecting newcomers from learning the truth.
A group of local teenagers begins to challenge these long-standing restrictions, setting off a chain of events that threatens the fragile balance between the living and the dead. Their actions force the town to confront its dark past and question whether their methods of containing the witch have been effective.
The novel explores themes of collective trauma, the price of security, and how communities respond to forces beyond their control. Through its supernatural premise, HEX examines the ways fear can both unite and divide people, while questioning the true nature of evil.
