📖 Overview
Detective follows Miami Police Detective Malcolm Ainslie, a former Catholic priest trainee who leads the investigation of a series of brutal murders. A religiously-motivated serial killer terrorizes Miami, staging elaborate crime scenes with symbols from the Book of Revelation.
The case intensifies when the killer, nicknamed "The Animal," is caught and sentenced to death row. Just before his execution, he requests to speak with Malcolm and makes a shocking claim about one of the murders attributed to him.
Malcolm must use his unique combination of police experience and theological knowledge to re-examine the evidence. His investigation raises questions about unsolved murders in other cities and the possibility of a copycat killer still at large.
The novel explores themes of faith, justice, and redemption while examining how past experiences shape current perspectives and decisions.
