Rod Allbright faces a new challenge when he and his cousin Elspeth are kidnapped and taken to Dimension X by the vengeful Smorkus Flinders. The alien crew of the Ferkel spaceship attempts a rescue, but their ship is damaged, leaving them stranded in a bizarre alternate dimension.
The group seeks help from the mysterious Shapeshifters of Dimension X as they search for their missing companion Snout. During their journey, Rod bonds with a creature called a Chibling and begins training in martial arts under the guidance of Tar Gibbons, a member of the Ferkel's crew.
