📖 Overview
Grace Alexander, a sex therapist in New Orleans, receives an ancient Greek book that contains an incantation to summon Julian of Macedon - a cursed warrior trapped inside its pages. When Julian materializes in her home, Grace discovers he is bound to serve as a love slave to whoever calls him forth.
Despite Julian's supernatural appeal and their mutual attraction, Grace refuses to use him as previous summoners have done. The two form a tentative friendship as Grace works to uncover the truth about Julian's curse and his past, while Julian grapples with his feelings for a woman who treats him as a person rather than a possession.
As Grace and Julian face supernatural threats and emotional barriers, they must confront both ancient magic and their own fears. The story combines elements of Greek mythology, paranormal romance, and contemporary New Orleans culture.
The novel explores themes of free will, the healing power of compassion, and the contrast between true intimacy and physical desire. Through its mythological framework, it examines how past trauma shapes present relationships.
