🏰 Ghost Knight was inspired by Salisbury Cathedral in England, where much of the story takes place. The author visited the cathedral multiple times while researching the book.
⚔️ William Longspee, one of the main ghost characters, was a real historical figure who served as the Earl of Salisbury in the 13th century and is actually buried in Salisbury Cathedral.
✍️ Though German author Cornelia Funke is best known for her Inkheart trilogy, she wrote Ghost Knight while living in Los Angeles, far from the book's English setting.
