📖 Overview
A man wakes up in a forest with no memory of who he is or how he got there. He soon discovers he must solve a murder that will occur at Blackheath House, a crumbling estate hosting a memorial masquerade ball - but with an impossible twist: he will inhabit the bodies of eight different guests, repeating the same day until he identifies the killer.
Each host body brings different abilities, limitations, and perspectives to the investigation. The protagonist must navigate complex relationships between the guests while piecing together both the murder mystery and the rules that govern his strange circumstances at Blackheath.
Moving through the perspectives of doctors, butlers, playboys, and more, the story combines elements of classic country house mysteries with mind-bending science fiction concepts. The investigation becomes a multilayered puzzle where the truth lies not just in what happened at the ball, but in understanding the nature of identity and consciousness itself.
The novel explores questions of moral responsibility, redemption, and whether personality shapes destiny - or if destiny shapes personality. Time loops and body-swapping serve as more than plot devices, becoming vehicles to examine human nature from multiple angles.
