📖 Overview
Last Gate of the Emperor follows Yared Heywat, a thirteen-year-old living in the futuristic city of Addis Prime. He spends his days skipping school and competing in an augmented reality game called The Hunt under an anonymous avatar, hoping to win enough money to help support himself and his uncle Moti.
The game world suddenly collides with reality when Yared discovers his city is threatened by an alien invasion. His uncle's mysterious disappearance forces him to uncover long-hidden family secrets and face the truth about his own identity.
Together with his bionic lioness Besa and newfound allies, Yared must navigate between the virtual and real worlds to protect his home. His journey leads him through the advanced technology of Addis Prime and into the heart of an intergalactic conflict.
The novel explores themes of identity, family legacy, and the blurred lines between digital and physical reality in a uniquely Ethiopian-inspired science fiction setting. Through Yared's story, the book examines how the past shapes the present and future.
