📖 Overview
The Black Unicorn continues the Magic Kingdom of Landover series, following Ben Holiday as he rules his purchased kingdom. When Ben, court magician Questor Thews, and sylph Willow experience prophetic dreams, they each pursue separate quests tied to their visions.
The evil wizard Meeks returns to Landover with schemes to reclaim power, using magic to create confusion about identities and manipulate the kingdom's inhabitants. The story centers on a mythical black unicorn that appears in the kingdom and a golden bridle said to control it.
Ben Holiday must navigate political intrigue, magic, and deception while working with allies including the cynical prism cat Edgewood Dirk and dealing with various kingdom inhabitants who cannot recognize his true identity. The River Master, Willow's father, becomes involved in the pursuit of the powerful black unicorn.
The novel explores themes of identity, trust, and the nature of truth versus appearances, building on the fish-out-of-water foundation established in the first book of the series.
