📖 Overview
Deep Blue follows Serafina, a mermaid princess preparing for her Doctoré ceremony to become leader of her underwater realm of Miromara. On the morning of this pivotal event, dark forces attack her kingdom, forcing her to flee.
During her escape, Serafina discovers an ancient prophecy about six mermaids who must come together to save their underwater world. She embarks on a quest to find these other mermaids while evading those who wish to stop her.
The story combines elements of traditional mermaid mythology with an entirely new underwater world complete with its own politics, magic systems, and cultural traditions. Multiple underwater realms exist with distinct societies and conflicts between them.
At its core, Deep Blue explores themes of destiny, female friendship, and the weight of responsibility thrust upon young leaders. The novel challenges expectations about power and leadership while building a rich underwater mythology.
