📖 Overview
Solveig, the middle child of a Norse king, finds herself trapped at a remote fortress with her siblings during a harsh winter. The king has sent them there for safety while he fights a war, leaving them with a small group of warriors and servants.
At the isolated steading, Solveig trains with Alric, the king's skald, to become a storyteller. Meanwhile, food grows scarce as winter intensifies, and evidence emerges that a traitor lurks within their walls.
As fear and suspicion mount among the group, Solveig must use her developing storytelling abilities and keen observations to uncover the truth. The frozen fjord that once protected them now serves as a prison, with danger coming from both outside and within.
This Viking-era mystery explores themes of identity, trust, and the power of stories to reveal both truth and human nature. The harsh landscape of medieval Norway serves as both setting and metaphor for the characters' internal struggles.
