📖 Overview
Echo North is a retelling of the East of the Sun, West of the Moon fairy tale set in a snow-covered land. After being attacked by a wolf as a child and left with facial scars, Echo Alkaev leads a quiet life with her father and brother until she encounters that same wolf again years later.
The wolf offers Echo a bargain - she must live in his house under the mountain for one year, and in exchange he will save her father's life. Inside the magical house, Echo discovers enchanted rooms filled with mirrors that lead to other worlds, a mysterious library, and secrets about the wolf's true nature.
As Echo works to unravel the mysteries of the house and break the wolf's curse, she must confront her own past trauma and find strength in herself. The story incorporates elements from multiple fairy tales while creating its own unique mythology.
This YA fantasy explores themes of inner versus outer beauty, the power of stories, and the courage required to face one's fears and embrace love. The novel reimagines traditional fairy tale tropes through a lens that emphasizes agency and self-acceptance.
