Prisoner of Time

📖 Overview

Prisoner of Time is a young adult time-travel romance set between the late 1800s and modern day. The story centers on Devonny, a Victorian-era teenager who faces an arranged marriage to a British nobleman she does not want to marry. Devonny has modern sensibilities and dreams of pursuing business ventures, but lives in an era when women have few rights or choices. As her wedding day approaches, she finds herself caught between family obligations and her desire for independence, while also trying to help a friend pursue forbidden love. Through mysterious circumstances, Devonny travels 100 years into the future where she meets Tod Lockwood, the brother of a character from previous books in the series. Tod struggles to find his path in life while coaching a girls' soccer team in the modern era. The novel explores themes of women's rights, personal freedom, and how societal expectations shape our choices across different time periods. Through parallel storylines in two eras, it examines how much - and how little - has changed in matters of love, family duty, and self-determination.
